ISE provides Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing training based on ASME Y14.5- 2018. GD&T is a quality control method for primary-generated three-dimensional solid models that explicitly describes nominal geometry and its allowable variation. It is an international code used by people who design tools and parts, to tell machinists and manufacturers what the proper dimensions of a given part must be. GD&T is used to define the nominal (theoretically perfect) geometry of parts and assemblies, to define the allowable variation in form and possible size of individual features, and to define the allowable variation between features. Our Fundamentals of GD&T is an introduction training to GD&T. Our Fundamentals of GD&T training course teaches the framework of how to understand, apply and interpret GD&T symbols to improve the manufacturing process. This beginners class doesn’t cover every GD&T concept, but will get in-depth on the basics of GD&T.
Topics include:
- Symbols and Terms
- Limits of Size
- How the Geometric System Works
- 3-2-1 Datum Reference Frame
- Product Plans and Virtual Condition
- Orientation Tolerances
- Form Tolerances
- Profile Tolerances
- Position Tolerances
