Open House focusing on 3D Printing for Sporting Goods

Additive manufacturing sporting goods has distinct advantages compared to traditional manufacturing methods. The market size of the Athletic & Sporting Goods Manufacturing industry in the US in 2021 is $9.0bn.  With 3D printing manufactures now have the ability to include generative design in the fabrication of innovative designs impossible with castings and other traditional manufacturing methods.  Metal 3D printers can print that previously impossible geometry in the skateboarding sector, resulting in trucks that are more aesthetically pleasing, stronger, and lighter.

In the golf sector, golf clubs, especially putters, are typically forged or machined. With 3D Metal printing, manufacturers can achieve excellent material properties without tooling or expensive CNC machining. 3D Metal printing allows for customization of parts like putters, so each player can have a design that is best suited to them. and when those designs go into mass production, they can be manufactured via binder jetting.
